The Conditions We Treat are Inter-related
In 1985, Dr. Levin presented scientific research linking chronic systemic yeast with parasites, affecting diseases such as Allergies, Asthma and Chronic Fatigue/ Fibromyalgia. He found that many of these patients have complex problems but can frequently be restored to health when treatment addresses the multiple causes rather than merely giving medication for the symptoms.
Similarily with Asperger’s Syndrome, Autism, Learning Disabilities, and ADD/ADHD-- These conditions are often linked to nutritional deficiencies, various toxins and multiple infections and Dr. Levin is notable for treating patients with non-invasive procedures.
Diabetes is another clear example of the genes interacting with the environment, so that Diabetes can be modified by correcting diet, exercise, toxins, infections, etc.
Aging
Recent informational releases by the CDC (US Center for Disease Control) concur with Dr. Levin's long time philosophy that "virtually all human diseases result from the interaction of genetic susceptibility factors and modifiable environmental factors, broadly defined to include infections, chemical, physical, nutritional and behavioral factors" (CDC, August, 2000) - and now we can identify the genetic susceptibility!

ADD-ADHD, Learning Disabilities
Typical signs of ADD-ADHD:
- Has difficulty paying attention to details or staying focused
- Is easily distracted or appears not to listen when spoken to
- Has memory difficulties and doesn’t follow directions
- Has difficulty getting/staying organized or finishing projects
- Is impulsive in action and/or speech

There are safe options in coping with ADD-ADHD:
Visiting a physician who can evaluate the child’s whole body is the first place to start. The physician may find other underlying conditions that need addressing but ones that may be overlooked during a routine physical exam.
Diet is important to a child with ADD-ADHD. The physician will instruct you on proven dietary changes that can assist your child in coping with this illness.
Exercise is always important for children. The physician will speak with you about exercise during the treatment plan visit.
Modifying your child’s environment to minimize distractions and safety is necessary in addition to natural therapy. Pharmaceutical therapy may be necessary, but should never be the only focus of the treatment plan.

Allergies/Asthma
Asthma is marked by the constriction of the airways that become inflamed and are lined with mucus. Allergies, stress, frigid air, common colds, and exertion can trigger asthma.
Typical signs of asthma are: wheezing, coughing, tightness in the chest area, and shortness of breath.

Andropause
Andropause may affect men between the ages of 40-65 and is similar to menopause, except that it has no sudden onset. Testosterone levels drop gradually, where women’s estrogen drops rapidly at the onset of menopause.
The signs of andropause may include mood changes, decline in cognitive functions, fatigue, a loss of libido, changes in energy levels and physical agility, and depression.
Most of these symptoms can be treated successfully with diet changes, exercise, and natural supplements. It is recommended that males who are experiencing health problems or are concerned about andropause should be evaluated by a physician that focuses on the whole body rather than the blood levels of testosterone alone.

Asperger’s Syndrome (AS)
Asperger’s Syndrome is a neurobiological disorder and falls into the group known as autism spectrum disorders. Because it’s a multi-symptom illness, it may be difficult to diagnose and treat. However, it differs with Autism as the onset of AS is normally later than Autism -- or it may be that is just recognized later than Autism.
Children with Asperger’s Syndrome normally have poor social skills, limited facial expressions, odd speech patterns, obsessions, sensitivity to lights/sounds that a parent may not see or notice; and may be characterized as clumsy, self-centered, and odd, with few interests and peculiar behaviors.
Getting help early and finding the right treatment plan is key in successfully living with AS.

Candida
Candida is as real and as overlooked, as under treated and as misunderstood, and maligned as Lyme disease. We were taught in medical school that systemic Candida was a fatal complication of immune sup-pression, as with cancer, chemo-therapy, and eventually AIDS. Today Candida is so common-place that a serious error of logic has occurred-"If everybody has it, then it must be normal!" Yet, it is only one of a multitude of unhealthy contaminants of the intestinal tract that contributes to chronic illness.

Cardiovascular Disease (CAD)

Chronic Fatigue Syndrome (CFS)
Chronic Fatigue Syndrome appeared in the mid 1970’s and is labeled as an acquired immunodeficiency disorder. It is estimated that over five million people with CFS may be undiagnosed and therefore untreated. ₁

Diabetes
Diabetes is an illness caused by high levels of blood glucose that resulting from inappropriate insulin production and/or defective insulin action. …I had been an insulin dependent diabetic for thirteen years. ..and would need laser treatments within the following year. Intestinal Dysbiosis
Tonight the hospital lab called to tell us that (our son) had c.diff from a stool test and they wanted to make sure that his physicians knew because they were concerned about his getting treated as soon as possible. Lyme Disease
Dr. Levin has been treating Lyme disease since the mid-1990s. Dr. Levin himself has had Lyme disease twice but successfully treated it early on both occasions. This makes three important points:
- Early treatment is short and effective.
- Unlike most other infections, long-term immunity is not guaranteed after recovery or immunization.
- It is impossible (outside of a very few research facilities) to differentiate a new infection from a recurrence of an old one that has not been treated long enough. Knowing when to stop is often more difficult than making the diagnosis. Late diagnosis and short treatment is the formula for disastrous results.

General Practice - Migraines
At thirty-six years old, migraines robbed me of significant life function. After two years of disability and many different experimental medications and treatments, I felt like my neurologist had given up on me. I was considering an inpatient program at a headache clinic far from home. Another specialist kept encouraging me to keep trying, and so I did more research online as I could. Thyroid
Hypothyroid refers to an underactive thyroid while hyperthyroid refers to an overactive one.
